Are You Considering Porcelain Veneers?

In Houston and Memorial City, Texas

Porcelain Veneers (also known as porcelain laminates) are thin shells of porcelain that are bonded onto the front surface of teeth to improve appearance. There are many benefits to a set of veneers:

  • Correcting poor alignment
  • Close gaps between teeth
  • Increasing tooth length
  • Repairing chipped teeth
  • Dramatically whiten teeth

At Bunker Hill Dentistry we take veneer application seriously and have developed a streamlined process that delivers results. At your consultation you will have the opportunity to describe your ideal smile, and you will be able to voice your opinion and ask questions at every step. Dr. Le will never move forward until you are both on the same page.

The Typical Veneers Procedure – What To Expect

dental x rayPhase One:

You will receive a complete oral examination, including x-rays and photographs. An in depth understanding of your current state will allow Dr. Le to create a realistic plan for your transformation. Your teeth will be cleaned and any outstanding dental priorities will be addressed. All issues such as cavities, fractures, chipped teeth, etc. must be taken care of prior to veneer application.

Veneers color testPhase Two:

Dr. Le will take an impression of your teeth and create a diagnostic model work-up. He will prepare sample teeth to mimic the final result. Modifications will be made based on your feedback and then the model will be used to fabricate a guide for the temporary veneers.

When you are ready to proceed, after optimal preparation of the teeth, impressions are made, temporary veneers are inserted and worn for one to two weeks. This period of time allows you to evaluate your new smile and make notes of any changes you would like to make before proceeding with the final porcelain veneers.

Finally, you will be satisfied with your new teeth!

Porcelain Veneers vs. Lumineers

Lumineers are just a brand name for porcelain veneers. They are often marketed as “prep-less” veneers because they do not require any drilling. Unfortunately, it is rare to find a set of  Lumineers that look aesthetically acceptable. Due to the installation method, there is often bulkiness at the gum line which puts you at risk for inflammation, irritation, and degradation.  Dr Le has been placing porcelain veneers since the late 80’s and can create a smile that is both appealing and healthy.

Paying For Porcelain Veneers

We are sensitive to all financial needs and will work with you to find a manageable solution. We also offer chair-side bonding, which is both faster and less expensive. In this procedure, Dr. Le designs and constructs your veneers from bonding material in one visit. This direct veneering technique is an art that few dentists have managed to master. Whether you choose porcelain veneers or the alternative, Bunker Hill Dentistry looks forward to helping you achieve the perfect smile.
