Having healthy gums means you will enjoy a healthy smile for years to come. Many people struggle with loose teeth, decayed teeth, or missing teeth and want a solution. You can have a healthy, beautiful smile again. Through proper periodontal treatment and the use of dental implants, it is possible to restore your smile to a natural-looking, stunning appearance as well as a much healthier mouth.

At Bunker Hill Dentistry, we take pride in helping you achieve a healthy, attractive and confident smile. To do this, we will do our best to save your natural teeth and improve their appearance and health. There are instances in which it is not possible to save the existing teeth, or doing so will put you at risk. This is when we’ll encourage you to consider All-on-4 implant-retained bridge.

We Utilize the Latest Technology to Achieve the Best Solution

At Bunker Hill Dentistry, we provide All-on-4 treatment to our patients who need it. It’s important to have a dentist you trust to handle this need. Our goal is not to just remove teeth. Rather, we want to help you with a restorative process when it is right for you.

When you come in to see us, and you have damage to your teeth or bone, or you have missing teeth and ongoing tooth loss, the treatment process begins. With proper radiographs including a state-of-the-art 3-D i-CAT Cone Beam CT scan, we will examine the condition of your mouth and overall health, discuss what your goals are and how we can help you achieve those in a timely and affordable way. All-on-4 is only one of the solutions we can offer you. We at Bunker Hill Dentistry encourage you to become informed about your condition and solution before proceeding with any irreversible procedure.

What does All-on-4 Involve?

All-on-4 involves inserting four titanium implants to the gum line, and then securing a set of custom-made, artificial teeth into those implants.

  • As in any dental treatment, the All-on-4 procedure begins with a comprehensive oral examination, health history and status evaluation as well as what you need and desire.
  • Once it has been determined and agreed that this treatment is what you decide upon, we will proceed with a work-up involving model work, custom-fabricated prosthesis, custom-ordered implant and restorative parts (get to know the 3 parts of a dental implant).
  • The pre-surgery portion may take 2-4 weeks.
  • If you don’t have enough bone to support new implants, you may require bone grafting which needs 6 months to heal before proceeding with implants. Learn more about bone grafts and understand who make good candidates, the different bone graft procedures, how the procedure works, and its effectiveness.
  • Once everything is in place, the surgery, implant placement, and extractions as well as the delivery of your fixed implant-retained bridge will take place in one day.
  • In most cases, you will come out with teeth that stay fixed in your mouth. There are several options for tooth material, including acrylic, porcelain and zirconia.
  • We will also review care and diet instruction in detail.

Note that immediate prosthesis is transitional while waiting for your body to integrate the implants before we fabricate a more solid long-term prosthesis in the next 6 months. We charge for the whole service and you will not have to pay any extra for the final prosthesis. During the 6-month waiting period, we will see you for follow-up, bite adjustment, etc.

We will be there for you for the whole journey as well as helping you maintain it afterwards.

How Does the Procedure Work?

There is a significant amount of planning for this procedure. It starts with gathering information about your teeth as well as your oral structure. We will take x-rays and provide you with an overall health consultation to ensure you are healthy enough for the procedure. We use this process not only to ensure you are healthy but also to gather information about your oral structure. We make your new teeth in advance of your procedure day. This ensures we can have an exceptional fit for you.

The day of the procedure, you will be put under anesthesia. We will then be able to place each one of your new implants into place. This is a single day visit for the actual surgery.

When you leave after this procedure, you may have a bit of discomfort and swelling. However, you will have your healthy, new teeth in place.  Full recovery can take several months as the implants fuse with the jawbone.

All-on-4 or Traditional Dental Implants?

At Bunker Hill Dentistry, we provide you with the best solution for your needs. We do not force you or push you towards the wrong option. Instead, we want you to make the best decision for your needs. For this reason, when you come in for an appointment, we’ll discuss all ways to preserve and restore your teeth. If this is not possible, then we will discuss all types of dental implants. This includes our All-on-4 solution as well as traditional dental implants.

Which option is right for you? This isn’t a simple decision. It is our job to educate you about which options fit your needs. The decision is based on the condition of your mouth and teeth. All-on-4 can be implanted more strategically. For those who have a significant amount of work or have lost most of their teeth (or need to have them removed), this solution tends to be less painful and less overall invasive.

We encourage you to learn more about All-on-4 and the dental implant services our team can offer to you. Call Bunker Hill Dentistry at 832-834-5281 or use our appointment form to schedule a consultation.
